Dare I say...it's official...we have boys!

After a very unusual Sunday....it's very good to get the rest of the week going. Hopefully the rest of the week will be uneventful!

Event #1:
Sunday started off in the usual fashion...get everyone ready for church, go to church, etc! Well, Adriana had a birthday party to go to right after church (at a pub! ;0) ) After the party, Aaron had to go back to church to help with a funeral. During the funeral, my phone was on the kitchen counter charging. Unknown to me, Gabriel was playing with my phone. Friends from out of town were over at that time, as well! My friend, Chrissy, heard a phone and asked who was playing with one. I went into the kitchen to find Gabe. Well, turns out, he was calling Aaron's cell phone! I casually took it away from him and hit "end". I went into the other room again and heard my cell phone ringing. It was Aaron and now he was also outside of the house. Turns out...Gabe had called Aaron's cell 3 times during the funeral!!!! Not good! He was horrified, and so was I!

Event #2:
After our friends left, Aaron took all 3 older kids out to get snack for youth group that night. When he got home, he let them play on their bikes for a moment and came inside to talk to me. I happened to look out the window and saw a car passing our house with Gabriel running after it chasing a ball. Heart attack!!! Aaron ran out immediately and grabbed him. He was okay...Praise the Lord!

Aaron came back in and said..."can nothing else happen today, please!?!?!??!!"

Event #3:
Aaron was at youth group and I was getting everyone ready for bed. Actually, everyone was ready for bed and I was about to put Samuel down. I happened to be putting the last bit of laundry away in my room when I heard a loud noise like a drawer being shut, hard. I went into the boys' room to say, "no slamming drawers", when I noticed Nathaniel on the ground with his arm under his body. He had fallen from the top of his bunk bed ladder. Not good, again! He started whimpering. I checked out his arm and noticed his wrist didn't look good. Anyone who knows me, knows that I don't handle these things well. Hence the joke that I'm still trying to understand why God has blessed me with 3 boys!!!!

I called Aaron to tell him and do you know...he asked if I was kidding!!!! It was just one of those days! Once again, we called our dear "surrogate Mom", Donna and asked her to stay with the other kids. Off to the hospital we went! We were at the first hospital for about an hour (got right in!) and they said that we needed to go down to the city to CHOP in an ambulance. Nathaniel needed his arm set right away because he completely broke his radius and ulna. On went the saga! We didn't get home until 6:45am Monday! Thank you, thank you, thank you...Donna! Sadly, with this...Nathaniel cannot play baseball anymore for this season. Many new things to get used to.

Here are some pictures....

Nathaniel being transferred to CHOP via
ambulance. He finally fell asleep for a few
minutes!

1st happy....

then sad...It hurts!!!

Finally, we're home and ready for
school! It's definitely an adjustment
for all of us!

Happy Birthday, Gabriel and Samuel!!!!!

When told where we were going...Nathaniel and Adriana had a hard
time getting excited. Once we were there, they figured out it was
still fun to see Elmo and Friends!!!

Picture time again!!!

I feel like we just had the kids' pictures taken...back in July! Since Gabriel and Samuel just had their birthdays, we thought it would be a good time to have all of their pictures taken as well! After realizing how hard it was/is to get 4 small children to cooperate/smile/look at the camera/sit up tall, etc...these are the pictures we ended up with! Enjoy!!!

Ice skating-or-lessons in Geriatrics?!?!?!

Adriana received "Mia, Girl of 2008" American Girl doll for Christmas! She was literally praying every night before Christmas that she would get Mia! Well, for those who don't know...Mia is an ice skater. Therefore, Adriana has been dreaming of being an ice skater just like Mia. Her dream finally came true 8 weeks ago! However, in order for her to take lessons, Aaron and I decided that we needed to go as a family and try ice skating out...just to make sure Adriana knew what she'd be getting herself into!

The rink has "walkers" for anyone who feels uncomfortable and unstable. Each of the kids used a walker at the beginning. By the end of our time there, they were all skating on their own! The pictures that I took were mostly of the walkers, hence the geriatric training comment! We had a great time and a lot of great laughs!!! Adriana went away very confident that she definitely wanted to take lessons!

Happy 1st Birthday, Samuel!!!!!

We can't believe that our baby is 1 already! Where does the time go?
I am really feeling that way as I finally put these pictures on here...
only 1 1/2 months after his first birthday! :0)
Other than having a great "snow day" together and going out
for pizza, having "Auntie Donna" over, and opening gifts from
far away family...we didn't really do much! Instead of a big party,
we decided to celebrate both Sam and Gabe's birthdays by
going to "When Elmo Grows Up"! We had a blast!
Here's a glimpse into the fun we had for our little Sam-Bam!

Samuel's First Haircut!

It's so hard to believe that little Sammy is going to be 1 soon. Time is just blowing by so fast. Many firsts have already come and gone; however, there's one I just wasn't ready for. I just love my babies to have "baby hair"! I know it sounds funny, but they grow up so fast and I feel like they're rushed into being old in so many ways already. One of the small ways I feel I can keep them little is by letting their hair stay "baby". Well, unfortunately, Sam's hair has been growing like crazy, and not in a cute way. It was way over his ears and eyes, and was border-line mullet. So, I did it....I cut his hair! I'm no hairdresser, but I did my best! Here's a few pictures of the big moment!!!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Gabriel!!!

Our family's tradition is to make a banner for
the birthday person. Usually it's the kids
and me. This year, Aaron decided he wanted
to make the birthday banner! It is quite
lovely! Adriana and Nathaniel helped decorate
it with Elmo, Grover, and trees! Aaron displayed
his awesome "bubble letter" technique!

Gabriel was greeted by Adriana and Nathaniel
with great big hugs....oh, if they could always
treat each other this way!

Gabriel was also greeted by
his favorite food group ever...
Chocolate Chip Cookies!!! I
think I just received the "Mother
of the Year" award for giving
Chocolate Chip Cookies and
chocolate milk for breakfast!
Right!!!!!

Gabe is so happy! Somehow,
he is the one child in our family
who manages to always have
a dirty face. I do wash him up,
I promise!!!

Sam's a little upset that he can't
have chocolate chip cookies...soon
buddy, soon! ;0)

What a present!!!.....SNOW!!!!!

How else do we finish a birthday off???
We go to Chuck E. Cheese! Wow! Tip for
all of you over eager parents who are just
dying to go to C.E.C's....go on a Weeknight!!!
It's so empty...That totally helps to make it
an enjoyable time! This picture is of Gabriel
with "Daddy" and Adriana in the back!
