Adriana's Fishy Show...

Well, tomorrow is Adriana's last day of 1st grade. It has been a wonderful year...she has grown so much. One of the big things about 1st grade in our school is that they do the "Fishy Show". It is at the end of the year. They apparently start a couple months before...learning songs, decorating their shirt, making books, researching their sea creature, etc. It has been so much fun watching Adriana get really into her research. In fact, while Grandma and Grandpa were here we were going to take her out of school a day and she said that she really wanted to go to school! Of course, we let her go to school! ;0)

Adriana's sea creature that she needed to research and make a 3D recycled model of was the dolphin. That happens to be her favorite "animal", so you can imagine how excited she was! Grandma Jo helped Adriana make dolphin earrings and a bracelet out of polymer clay and I helped her make her dolphin model. It was so much fun...even for me! Last week Wednesday was the Fishy Show. Adriana had 2 lines on her own. One about the dolphin and one asking for everyone to please stay seated. At the end of the night, she told me that she wished she could be on stage more because she really enjoyed it! ;0)

Last Friday, the entire 1st grade went on their field trip to the aquarium. I was fortunate to be one of the parents allowed to go along. Again, what a great time! Every child was so excited to find sea creatures that their class mates had researched. Ah, if they could just say young and always love school!
